A Huge Pint And Games Night Is Coming To Barasti

Calling all fans of organised fun (and pints). Barasti is hosting a Hops Olympics this month.

The pint-based event is taking place on Saturday August 26 bringing live music, and Olympic-style hop games to the Disco Tropicana Tent.

Running from 8pm to 11pm, there will be games including an ice cube tray race, hop pong, flipping cups and more. Winners will walk home with prizes including free short drinks and New Year’s Eve vouchers.

From midday to 8pm on the day, house beverages will start from Dhs20. While Barasti’s resident band Sweet Chilli Jam will be singing their famed covers on stage from 5pm to 8pm.

Continuing the live music from 11pm to 2am, The Boxtones will be on the stage playing some of their own rock-style tracks.

There’s a Disco Drunch happening throughout the evening from 8pm to 11pm. You’ll get unlimited house drinks and a mixed platter for three hours. It’s Dhs189 for ladies, Dhs239 for gents and if you’re a teacher, you’ll get the package for Dhs149.

Opening in its original form in 1995, Barasti is the city’s original beach club, bar and pub, all in one. And it’s still one of the most popular. Though when it opened Barasti was far from the sprawling venue it is today; back in 1995 it was a swimming pool beside the beach with a hut where live musicians would play acoustic sets as the sun set.

The beach bar is open every day and the free entry means the spot attracts people from all walks of life. If you’re looking for a laid-back bar to wear your flip-flops (or heels), Barasti is your go-to.
