Sania Mirza Bids Farewell To Her Tennis Carrier After Dubai Duty Free Tennis Match
There comes a time in everyone’s live when they have to say goodbye to the things they love the most. So is the case with the great Indian tennis star Sania Mirza.
She played her last tennis match in the Dubai Duty Free Championship on Tuesday. Her magnificent 20-year-long career ended with a defeat in the first round of the championship.
The former doubles world No.1, partnering American Madison Keys, went down to Veronika Kudermetova and Liudmila Samsonova 6-4, 6-0.
Mirza, arguably the greatest women’s tennis player to emerge from India, had committed to retirement going into the tournament after a glitter 20-year career during which she won six Grand Slam titles, in doubles and mixed doubles.
“It hasn’t really hit me, but I’m sure I’m going to have a good cry tomorrow,” said Mirza
