Emirates To Eliminate Printed Boarding Passes In A Few Days

Ready to say goodbye to physical boarding pass on your next Emirates flight? Well, the Dubai-based airline has decided to get rid of printed boarding passes to help the environment and slimline customer experience.

Passengers will require to use a mobile boarding pass effective from May 15. Jetsetters checking in at Terminal 3 will receive their mobile boarding pass via email or SMS.

Those who check in online can load their boarding pass into their Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, or retrieve their boarding pass on the user-friendly Emirates App.

The checked-in baggage receipt is also emailed directly to passengers, or available in the Emirates App.

Some passengers will still have to have a printed boarding pass; those travelling with infants, unaccompanied minors, passengers requiring special assistance, passengers with onward flights on other airlines and all passengers travelling on flights to the US.

Don’t worry if you are unable to access your digital boarding pass due to a tech mishap, such as running out of battery power, a system breakdown or glitch, a message delivery delay, or inability to access WIFI, network or a data package, as staff on one of Emirates’ check-in desks at the airport will assist.

Everything you need for flying can be found on the Emirates app such as digital menus in advance and you can even spend time curating a playlist of favourite movies, TV shows and music playlists to watch in the air.
