With tax-free salaries, year-round sunshine, and diverse dining options – Dubai is a great place to live. And there is no wonder that the emirate’s population is on the rise.

New stats show that, during the 12-month period between 2022 and 2023, almost 100,000 people moved to the Emirate.

According to the Dubai Statistics Centre, the Dubai population 2023 is 3,604,030 (as of July 2023). Using the same calculator, in July 2022 it was recorded that the population was 3,515,264, marking a rise of 88,766 in the last 12 months.

Dubai is the most heavily populated Emirate in the UAE, with 50,000 people flocking to its sandy shores in the last six months. Part of the Dubai Urban Plan 2040 is to see the population increase from 3.6 million (as it is now) to 7.8 million over the next 20 years. And it will also aim to ensure the growing population has greater living facilities.

As part of the plan, the government will make sure 55 percent of the population lives within 800 metres of a main public transport station. Public beaches are in the process of being expanded by 40 percent as part of the plan. And 60 percent of the city’s land will be dedicated to nature reserves.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai said: “Development in Dubai is continuing and we are still at the beginning.

“We will continue to provide the best standard of living for individuals and families in services and projects globally.”
