Dubai To Become Double In Size Economically Under New Plan

There is so much to love about Dubai – be it the emirate’s nightlife, skyscrapers, or security.

And new plans for the city are all set to further cement its place in top spot.

The 10-year scheme aims to double the size of the economy, with combined economic targets of Dhs32trillion by 2033.

The idea is to consolidate Dubai’s position as a top global economic city, doubling foreign trade to reach Dhs25.6trillion and adding 400 other cities to its trading network.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, announced the agenda on his 17th Accession Day anniversary.

He said 2033 is the year modern Dubai turns 200 and also “when we will complete our D33 economic journey.”

HH Sheikh Mohammed added that “the world makes way for those who know what they want.”

Under the plans, around 100 projects will be coming to Dubai to transform the city even more.

It comes after Dubai was ranked the world’s second best city for expats in 2022.

Spain’s Valencia topped the InterNations Expat City Ranking list 2022, with survey respondents raving about the quality of life, public transport and sporting opportunities, followed by Dubai, which was lauded as a great place to work and enjoy leisure time as well as for the welcome it gives new arrivals.

Mexico City came in third for its affordability.
