Instagram Threads: All the Details Here As Dubai Gets Access

There is always something new happening on social media.

And this time, Meta, the owners of Facebook and Instagram, has launched its latest venture, Instagram Threads.

Hoping to be somewhat of a rival to Twitter, owned by Elon Musk, Instagram Threads allows users to post real-time updates.

• Users can sign in with their existing Instagram account but you need to download Instagram Threads via the iOS app store or Android’s Google Play.
• When you open up the Instagram Threads app, it should show your existing Instagram account. You can then customise your profile or import the same information as you have on Instagram. Users can also decide if they want to follow accounts on Instagram.
• You can send posts of up to 500 characters, including images, gifs and videos of up to five minutes in length. Users can also quote a thread and repost and reply, like Twitter.
• Users can add hidden words to filter out replies to your threads that contain specific words. You can unfollow, block, restrict or report a profile on Threads by tapping the three-dot menu, and any accounts you’ve blocked on Instagram will automatically be blocked on Threads.
• Instagram Threads users can make their profiles private or public. You can also have your Instagram account private and Instagram Threads public. All under 16s using Instagram Threads will have a private account by default.
