Tickets Are On Sale For The Phantom Of The Opera

One of the most popular theatre musicals in Broadway and the West End is going to be in Dubai next year.

The Phantom of the Opera, with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, lyrics by Charles Hart and additional lyrics by Richard Stilgoe, will take over the stage at Dubai Opera from Thursday February 22 until Sunday March 10.

Fans of romantic musical, which will have a two-hour and 45 minute running time, can now book tickets on the Dubai Opera website from Dhs250.

Ticketholders can expect a reimagined version of The Phantom of the Opera including 100 cast, crew and orchestra members and timeless classics such as The Phantom of the Opera, Think of Me, and Music of the Night.

The show is based on the classic novel Le Fantôme de L’Opéra by Gaston Leroux, and tells the tale of a disfigured musical genius known only as the Phantom who haunts the depths of the Paris Opera House – which is presided over by new owners Andre and Firmin.

Mesmerised by the talent and beauty of a young soprano, Christine, the Phantom lures her as his protégé and falls in love with her. Unaware of Christine’s love for another man, the Phantom’s obsession sets the scene for a dramatic turn of events.

The Phantom of the Opera has earned over 70 major theatre awards, including seven Tony Awards on Broadway and four Olivier Awards in London’s West End.
