TABŪ Relocates, Adds New Cuisine To Its Menu

Japanese restaurant TABŪ opened last year on the 23rd floor of The St. Regis Downtown Dubai.

If you are planning to visit this restaurant, you’ll find yourself closer to the ground than the sky as it’s moved to the Mezzanine level of the hotel.

The restaurant has a new look too. Gone is the colourful space that paid homage to Japanese culture with a funky twist (including the outdoor statue of two sumo wrestlers) and instead, it’s a more muted palette. Think terracotta and mustard tones with pops of red and blue.

Also, it is no longer a Japanese restaurant; it will now serve a mix of Middle Eastern and Asian food.

From the East, diners can enjoy bites including crispy rice wagyu beef served with truffle dressing and o-toro tartare with sesame cones, avo-yuzu koshu, caviar, and gold. Up next, a delectable array of nigiri and maki awaits before moving on to hot and cold starters such as salmon Usuzukuri style, seabass ceviche, salmon teriyaki, and wagyu beef kushiyaki.

Among the Middle East offerings, there are salads, plus hot and cold starters including wagyu beef tartare, patlican, lakerda, prawns kibbeh with fresh herbs, midye, ispanak pide and more.

TABŪ is known for its theatrical productions and that’s not going to change as roaming performers will continue to entertain diners at its new home.

There’s a live DJ spinning tunes from 8pm to 1am during the week and until 2am on Fridays and Saturdays.

Sun-Thurs 12.30pm to 1am. Fri and Sat 12.30pm to 2am. Tabu, St Regis Downtown Dubai, Business Bay (052 950 1309).
