Global Village To Celebrate Diwali This Weekend With Special Shows

Head to Global Village this weekend to enjoy Diwali celebrations.

Between Friday November 10 and Sunday November 12, the attraction will celebrate Diwali.

Dress up in an Indian outfit if you’d like or… there’s plenty of shopping on site as well.

The Indian Pavilion is home to 230 shops selling authentic outfits and accessories. You can even find various handicrafts, artefacts, gold, souvenirs and even home décor there.

To mark the Indian festival visitors will be able to enjoy some food, like dosa, kebabs, bhelpuri, golgappas and whatnot.

To round off the experience, take in a show or two – Bollywood and cultural shows will take place on the main stage and India Pavilion’s stage over the weekend.

Diwali is a huge festival comprising several traditions, during which those celebrating put a clay lamp outside their homes to symbolise the inner light that protects them from spiritual darkness.

Global Village is in its 28th season and the family-friendly destination is open from 4pm until midnight.

There are two ticket options for visitors; a value ticket that’s valid from Sunday to Thursday (not on public holidays) and costs Dhs25 per person and a day ticket that costs Dhs30.

Kids under the age of three, senior citizens and people of determination and welcome free. For discounted tickets for the rest though, book online or via the app.
