A Free ‘Geek Culture’ Event To Take Place Next Weekend

Big fan of superheroes, comic books, and video games? Well, a Geek Community Day is going to happen in Dubai next week.

Rove’s Geek Community Day is taking place at Rove Downtown on Saturday October 28 between 10am and 10pm.

It’s free to attend but you’ll need to sign up on the website and register to enter.

Touted as an alternative way to celebrate Halloween, the event, organised by Hobby Nation, encourages attendees to dress up in cosplay. There will be a prize for the best dressed worth more than Dhs5,000.

Throughout the day-to-night experience, there will also be tabletop games including Dungeons and Dragons and the opportunity to play video games.

Collectable fans will be able to shop for their collection as there will be Otaku collectables, comic books and artwork for sale.

In the evening, there will be a quiz night hosted by Hobby Nation that will test your knowledge of all things geek.

Designed with gamers in mind, each room comes kitted out with a gaming rig, two screens and Razer peripherals. You can connect to your own games account or play the titles included such as GTA 5, Valorant and Overwatch.
