New Flight Route Introduced To Pakistani Destination From Dubai

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is now flying directly from Dubai to Skardu in Gilgit−Baltistan, Pakistan.

The first flight is taking off today (Monday August 14) which is Pakistan Independence Day.

From now on the flight will operate once a week, every Saturday. It takes around four hours and 30 minutes to get to the Northern city in Pakistan. The airline operates out of DXB’s Terminal One.

The flights from Dubai to Skardu start from Dhs1,175 for one way.

In a press release, PIA spokesperson Abdullah Hafeez Khan said: “Skardu is a hidden gem, and we believe that it has the potential to become a major tourist hub in the region.

“This new flight route will make it easier for people to visit Skardu and experience all that it has to offer.”

Skardu is located in the Kashmir region, 2,400 metres above sea level. It is famed for its mountainous landscapes and turquoise-blue Satpara Lake. A natural beauty spot, there are many things to see including Deosai National Park, Upper Kachura Lake and the Manthokha Waterfall.

The climate is relatively warm compared to other Northern Pakitan destinations with an average of 10 degrees from March to May. During the summer (June to September) temperatures can range up to 30 degrees. While in the winter (December to February) it can drop into the minus degrees.
