Etihad Rail shared a video on its Twitter account with caption that reads: “Connecting Dubai Industrial City and the Expo Railway Bridge, which is adjacent to prominent landmarks including Expo City and Al Maktoum International Airport, extending all the way to Al Qudra Bridge, the longest railway bridge within Dubai’s main line network. This comprehensive railway infrastructure empowers and streamlines the transportation of goods throughout the country.”

For those wanting to book freight services, you can now do so on the Etihad Rail website. Reducing time and costs, it’s possible to use the Etihad Rail to move goods around the Emirates, to the border of Saudi Arabia and to the border of Oman.
When the passenger train service is complete, it will connect 11 cities and regions across the UAE. It will stretch from Al Sila to Fujairah including Al Ruwais, Al Mirfa, Dubai, Sharjah, Al Dhaid and Abu Dhabi. The hope is this will reduce the number of people who commute by car between the Emirates by 30 to 40 percent.
Trains are estimated to take 1 hour 40 minutes to move between Abu Dhabi and Sohar, and just 47 minutes to travel from Al Ain to Sohar.
