Hajj 2023: More Security And Extra Check-in Added At Dubai Airport

Saudia Arabia will be operating the first official Hajj flight from DXB Terminal 1 on June 22.

And DXB airport is planning to ensure smooth travel for those starting their journeys from Dubai International with several upgrades.

To help during the busy periods during the Hajj season, dedicated counters have been allocated at check-in, passport control and security.

Special departure gates have also been arranged for accommodating Hajj flights. Travellers during this time are being advised to arrive at DXB four hours before their scheduled flight departure.

This is to make sure there is plenty of time to complete all travel procedures comfortably.

In April, the airport was named the world’s busiest international airport by ACI World for the ninth year in a row.

According to ACI World’s annual report, the Dubai-based airport had the most international passengers transiting through its doors.

In total, DXB welcomed a total of 66,069,981 passengers in 2022, which was 127 percent higher than the previous year. In the last quarter of the year, DXB saw 19,729,155 passengers going through the airport, which marked the busiest period since pre-pandemic in 2019.
