Dubai Marathon 2024 Route Revealed – Entries Now Open

Mark your diaries for January 7 as entries for the Dubai Marathon are now open for the 2024 edition of the race.

If you’re put off by the distance, never fear, because this event features three race distances – a full marathon (42.195km), a 10km race and a 4km fun run.

And all three editions of the marathon will start and finish on Umm Suqeim Road, with runners registering close to the Dubai Police Academy. The route, meanwhile, will incorporate a distance along Jumeirah Beach Road and pass in the shadows of Burj Al Arab.

Entry for the marathon costs $150 (approx. Dhs550), while it’s $85 (approx. Dhs312) for the 10km race and $50 (approx. Dhs183) for the 4km fun run.

The news follows an agreement with the Dubai Sports Council and marks the return of the Middle’s East’s first and oldest international marathon.

Race director Peter Connerton said: “We thank Dubai Sports Council for their support, and we are now looking forward to working together with the relevant government organisations to stage an event that once again brings elite and amateur runners alike into the heart of the city.”

Organisers will now work throughout the year with Dubai Police, Dubai RTA and Dubai Municipality to formalise routes for all three races.

Dubai Sports Council Secretary General His Excellency Saeed Hareb said: “The Dubai Marathon is one of the largest annual events in Dubai and is eagerly awaited by runners of all ages and abilities with participants from both in and outside the UAE.

“We will continue to work closely with the organisers to stage another memorable event and we are currently in the planning stage for next year.”

Runner registration is open through the official Dubai Marathon website.
