You Will Soon Be Able To Edit Your Sent WhatsApp Messages

WhatsApp is to add (another) new feature to the instant messaging app.

Soon, the messaging platform, owned by Facebook’s Meta, will allow users to edit messages after they’ve been sent. There’s a catch though, the edit option will only be available for 15 minutes after a message has been sent.

Mark Zuckerberg, Chief Executive of Meta, announced this feature will be made available to WhatsApp users worldwide in the coming weeks. When the new feature is released, it will be easy to use as all you have to do to press on the message and select edit to change the message.

It comes after Meta shared that a new Chat Lock feature is to be unveiled on WhatsApp.

Chat Lock will mean users are able to lock and hide conversations by giving the option to remove a chat thread from the app’s main inbox. The messages will then be kept in a hidden folder that can be opened by a password or facial recognition/fingerprint.

To use the new function, it will be pretty easy. All you’ll need to do is tap the name of a person or group chat then select the Chat Lock option (under disappearing message).

This new feature will be introduced across the world, including the UAE, soon.
