WhatsApp Now Lets You Send High-Resolution Images

WhatsApp, the popular messaging platform, has introduced a new feature that allows users to send high-definition (HD) images within the app.

This update aims to enhance the image-sharing experience and provide users with clearer and more detailed visuals.

Unlike the previously compressed and sometimes pixelated images that users were accustomed to, the high-resolution image-sharing feature takes advantage of compression algorithms to transmit images without sacrificing quality.

The feature is expected to be rolled out gradually over the next few weeks. According to Meta, HD videos will follow soon after.

Once you get the new feature, you’ll be able to see an “HD” gear icon when adding an image to a message thread.

The feature benefits not only the sender but also the recipient, as the high-res photos allow for zooming in and examining the finer details of the images.

However, if you aren’t connected to Wi-Fi or you are dealing with a slower connection, you can choose to keep your images compressed with a standard definition.

Recently, WhatsApp also introduced “Instant Video Messaging.”, which gives users the chance to record and send video messages, merging both voice messages and videos into a single communication tool. This means you can record and share short personal videos directly in the chat.
