Whatsapp Adds New Feature That Changes How You Can Send Pictures

The messaging platform, owned by Facebook’s Meta, is reportedly adding another new feature for users who love to send photos via the IM app.

Targeted at those who want to share better quality media, there is set to be an option to send better quality photos by preserving dimensions, according to Wabetainfo.

It’s expected that it will be possible to choose a better quality when sending photos, and the option will only appear when you select a photo that’s large in size. It won’t mean you can send photos in their original quality because the option preserves image dimensions.

It’s understood that the default option will always be standard quality and users will have to select the HD option when wanting to send snaps with improved quality.

Did you know that WhatsApp now allows users to edit messages after they’ve been sent?

The edit option is only available for 15 minutes after a message has been sent and will show both chat participants when a message has been edited.

All you have to do to edit a message is select the text you want to change and select ‘edit’ on the drop-down menu.

Following the writer making the changes, a notification will pop up reading: “This message was edited for everyone in this chat on the latest version of WhatsApp.”

Soon there will be Chat Lock, allowing users to lock and hide conversations by giving the option to remove a chat thread from the app’s main inbox.
