Can’t wait for the next holiday, already? Well, we don’t blame you. There is the opportunity to plan a trip away or enjoy sightseeing in Dubai, there are so many options for incredible things to try in the emirate.

So, when are the UAE public holidays in 2023?

The first public holiday of 2023 was on New Year’s Day, which fell on a Sunday.

Eid al Fitr came next – and the UAE marked the occasion with two public holidays that stretched into a four-day weekend from April 20-23.

Next in line came Arafat Day, the second day of the week-long Hajj pilgrimage, which took place on Tuesday June 27.

Arafat Day was directly followed by Eid al Adha, or the Feast of Sacrifice.

One of the most important days in the Islamic calendar, it was celebrated on June 28, 29 and 30.

After that, Wednesday July 19 will see a public holiday to mark Islamic New Year, falling on the first day of the month Muharram – the first of the Islamic lunar calendar.

The Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) birthday follows that, with a public holiday on Wednesday September 27.

And finally, 2023’s public holidays will come to their conclusion in December.

Commemoration Day will be on Friday December 1, followed by National Day on Saturday December 2 and a further holiday for National Day on Sunday December 3.

Having said that, the National Day public holidays will not equate to a working day off, as they fall over a weekend, so most workers will be off anyway.
