Vehicle Testing Centres Are Now Open On Sundays

Do you need to get your vehicle tested but can’t find time on a week day? Well, you can now do so on Sundays.

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) are now permanently running vehicle technical testing services on Sundays from 2pm until 10pm. Previously closed on Sundays, the update to opening hours follows a successful two-month trial period in the Ras Al Khor Industrial Area.

Off the back of the trial, testing centres will be permanently available on Sundays as well as testing centres affiliated with ENOC Tasjeel Centre Al Aweer, Al Tawar, AutoPro Al Mankhool, and AutoPro Al Satwa.

The range of services provided at these centres include testing for transfer, registration, export and renewal of vehicle registration as well as the testing of classic vehicles. Vehicle testing is a legal requirement in Dubai and must be done to ensure that they are roadworthy.

Vehicles over a three-year-old period are mandatorily required to be tested at any of the RTA-approved vehicle testing centres.

Once a vehicle passes the test, it is proof that it is fit for UAE roads. For a light vehicle test and new vehicle registration, the amount is Dhs120 and the first re-test costs Dhs35.

For a heavy vehicle test and a new vehicle test, the amount is Dhs150 and Dhs50 for the first re-test.
