UAE: Weather To Drop Significantly; Yellow Alert Issued For Clouds And Rain

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) confirms that the UAE weather will be partly cloudy and dusty across the country. There is a chance of rain falling over eastern and northern areas of the UAE today.

A yellow alert has been issued for rain in the northern parts of the country.

NCM predicts a significant decrease in temperatures today. They will reach 24°C in Dubai and 23°C in Abu Dhabi. The emirates will see both see a low of 19°C.

Moderate to strong winds will cause blowing dust. The sea will be rough to very rough at times in the Arabian Gulf and moderate to rough in the Oman Sea.

The Emirates Astronomy Society already predicted that the most intense period of the winter season will begin in mid-January with severe cold and temperatures dropping to below 5 °C in mountainous areas.

This period lasts for ten days, and it is described as the period of ‘severe cold, according to a WAM report.

Al Jarwan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Astronomical Society, said “This period which is marked by the appearance of the Al-Na’eem stars at dawn on January 15, is also characterised by heavy rainfall.” Adding that this period continues for about 26 days, after which the intensity of the coldness is broken by the appearance of the first stars of Saud on February 10, which is the star of Saad Al Dhabah.
