UAE Supermoon To Rise Over Three-Day Weekend

UAE Supermoon To Rise Over Three-Day Weekend

Since three-day weekend is coming up in the UAE, you must be finding ways to enjoy it to its fullest.

You can take your pick of road trips, staycation options, and so much more.

But there’s more to look forward to in the UAE than all that, because a glorious Harvest Moon will light up in the night sky on Friday September 29.

This Supermoon will be the last of the year – and it’s set to be a good one, too. That’s because the Dubai Astronomy Group (DAG) claim: “This lunar spectacle promises to be a breathtaking visual delight, as the Moon graces us with its brilliance in a grand celestial finale.”

The spectacle is called the Harvest Moon due to the time of year in which it is visible – at the start of the autumn season.

In the pre-electricity age, farmers depended on the Moon’s light to harvest crops at night.

Back to present day, the best thing about this Supermoon is how easy it is to see.

No special equipment is needed at all. Seriously, all you need to do is look up on Friday September 29.

It will come as workers across the UAE enjoy extended time off – to honour the Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) birthday.
