UAE Residency Visa Process Has Become Easier Than Ever Before

There is not even a single thing not to love about Dubai. The city is full of wonderful residents, sky-touching buildings, fun activities, restaurants with delicious food and what not.

Well now, the process you need to go through to live here just got that little bit easier – and it’s been digitalised.

Confirmed by the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Security UAE (ICP), you can now extend or cancel your entry permit via a personal account online.

To clarify what we mean by an entry permit, this refers to the document issued to foreign nationals entering the UAE to finalise their residency visa.

These are valid for:

• Two months for normal visas or green residency visa applications. 
• Six months with multiple entries for golden visa applications.

Once your residency visa is confirmed, your entry permit has served its purpose.

Under the digital system, you can now submit requests to extend an entry permit.

It also allows you to pay the relevant fees and financial guarantees, if applicable. As long as this is approved by a government employee, your entry permit can be changed and you can print the electronic permit yourself.

You can also cancel an application through this digital portal, should you so desire. Alternatively, you can go about this process by visiting a typing centre.
