UAE Petrol Prices To Hike In August

UAE petrol prices will change next week, with the country’s fuel price committee scheduled to meet.

The meeting – which will decide the price of petrol and diesel for August – takes place at the end of every month, with rates tending to follow global trends.

And, if global trends are anything to go by, it looks like we could be in line for a price rise.

That’s because Brent Crude prices have steadily risen over July – starting at $74.65 a barrel and peaking at $82.75. West Texas Intermediate Crude Oil prices followed a similar trend, starting at $69.79 a barrel and peaking at $78.74 a barrel.

If a hike is confirmed for August, it will follow a similar jump for July’s prices.

Current prices are as follows:

  • Super 98 petrol: Dhs3 per litre, up from Dhs2.95 in June.
  • Special 95 petrol: Dhs2.89 per litre, up from Dhs2.84 in June.
  • E-Plus 91 petrol: Dhs2.81 per litre, up from Dhs2.76 in June.
  • Diesel: Dhs2.76 per litre, up from Dhs2.68 in June.

UAE petrol prices reached an all-time high in July 2022 with Super 98 costing Dhs4.63 per litre so far.
