Transport Your Furry Friends Into Dubai Via Emirates

Emirates SkyCargo is set to lift its ban on transporting snub-nosed pets.

Starting from Wednesday November 1 2023 until Monday April 1 2024, pet owners will be allowed to ferry their furry friends to and from Dubai with ease.

There are key requirements needed to use the service with customers having to provide a ‘Fit to Fly’ certificate issued by a vet and fill out an IPATA checklist for snub-nosed breeds.

Pets must be transported in a crate that is at least twice the size of what is typically required for non-snub-nosed breeds and they will only be accepted for single-sector uplift and on A380 aircraft.

There are also restricted departure times from DXB but cats are permitted to be transported on both day and night flights, customers will also need to sign a waiver letter.

Snub-nosed dogs and cats have compressed nose structures and are more prone to breathing problems, especially during air travel.

Here are dog breeds that are included in the category:

  • Boston Terrier
  • Boxer
  • Brussels Griffon
  • Bull Terrier
  • Bullmastiff
  • Chow Chow
  • Chinese Pug
  • Dogue de Bordeaux
  • Dutch Bulldog

  • Mastiff/Old English Mastiff

  • Shar Pei
  • Shih Tzu
  • Small Brabant Griffon
  • Staffordshire Bull Terrier
  • Tibetan Spaniel.

Cats also included are:

  • Persian
  • Himalayan

This is the first time since December 2020 that snub-nosed pets are allowed back on Emirates Sky Cargo.
