Sheikh Zayed Road To Be Closed For A Day Next Week

Dubai drivers will be unable to drive down Dubai’s main artery, Sheikh Zayed Road, for one day next week.

The usually busy road will be closed to drivers on Sunday November 12 as Dubai Fitness Challenge hosts Dubai Ride.

On the same day, a Guinness World Record attempt to smash the largest high-intensity interval train class record will take place on Sheikh Zayed Road’s tarmac in collaboration with adidas, Les Mills and DFC.

As for the exact times that the road will be closed, it’s yet to be confirmed but Dubai’s Road and Transport Authority (RTA) will share details closer to the time.

If you need to get to the area then you’ll need to hop on Dubai Metro as it will continue to run.

If you want to get involved in Dubai Ride, there is still time to register online.

There is the choice of a 4km family-friendly route through Downtown Dubai or a 12km ride along Sheikh Zayed Road with starting points at Museum of The Future, Al Satwa, Coca-Cola Arena, Business Bay and Lower Financial Street.

Those who have always wanted to take part in a Guinness World Record attempt can sign up on the adidas app.

Sunday November 12 is not the only day that Sheikh Zayed Road will be closed in November as it will also shut for Dubai Run on Sunday November 26.
