Sheikh Mohammed Orders A Dubai District To Be Renamed

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has ordered that a district in the Emirate be renamed.

Al Minhad and its surrounding areas will now be known as “Hind City.”

The emirate involves four zones – Hind 1, Hind 2, Hind 3, and Hind 4, and spans an area of 83.9km.

Hind means Brave and courageous in Arabic. It could also mean a group of camels.

Where is Hind City?

The former Al Minhad is located in the Al Qudra desert, near Damac Hills 2. Hind City is served by major roads, including Emirates Road, Al Ain Road, and Jebel Ali-Lehbab Road.

The city also includes housing for Emirati citizens, and it’s not the first time something has been renamed in Dubai.

Several buildings, roads, and even entire areas have been changed or rebranded.

JLT Rebrand

Recently, DMCC unveiled a new brand for Jumeirah Lakes Towers (JLT) as “A neighbourhood full of soul”. A motto that reflects the district’s growth into Dubai’s leading mixed-use community.

DMCC explains that the new brand is underpinned by the central proposition that JLT has become an eclectic neighbourhood full of soul. The community’s identity brings together authenticity, ambition, balance, and collaboration.
