Shakira Will Not Be Performing at the Opening Ceremony of the FIFA World Cup

The FIFA World Cup 2022 is just around the corner and fans can’t wait to watch the breathtaking opening ceremony on November 20.

Being a football fan, we all remember the mythical ‘Waka Waka’ by Shakira that she sang in the opening ceremony in 2010. The world’s best artists sing at the show, however, it seems that Shakira will not be performing on Sunday due to some personal issues, confirmed El program de Ana Rosa.

Same is the case with Rod Stewart and Dua Lipa, who have turned the opportunity amidst the criticism that has been directed at the World Cup.

“It’s been confirmed to me that Shakira will not perform at the opening ceremony, but they won’t say if she will have another role throughout the World Cup,” Adriana Dorronsoro said on the program.

Sandra Aladro, another contributor to the Telecinco program, said that she has spoken to the artist’s entourage.

“They have confirmed that she won’t be performing.” Aladro said. “She was going to be a guest performer, now she will have to send a statement to explain everything.”
