Robots Will Be Delivering Food To Your Doorstep In Dubai

As the name implies, AI is getting smarter and smarter. It is the same activities that individuals can perform, only much more quickly and occasionally more effectively. Some people think AI will or already has replaced regular people in their occupations. Not only do robots like ChatGBT write essays for students, but they also conduct surgery and serve food, I guess.

Robotic food delivery has been put to the test by RTA, Talabat UAE, and the Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority.

Dubai is testing out autonomous food delivery robots called ‘talabots’

The robots are designed to cover short-distance deliveries, which will increase efficiency, fleet optimisation and reduce carbon emissions – FANCY!

Three “talabots” will be introduced during the trial’s first phase to assist the residents of Cedre Villas in Silicon Oasis. Within a 3-kilometer radius of the Cedre shopping Center, the robots will travel to deliver the goods in a 15-minute window.

Customers can use an app to track their delivery and get reminders when their goods are ready for pickup (albeit it currently cannot ring the doorbell). The robots include tamper-proof locks and alarms to deter theft and vandalism, and they are built to work safely and securely. Additionally, it is consistent with Dubai’s efforts to have 25% of all trips be smart and autonomous by 2030.
