Ride Careem Bikes For Free This Weekend

Careem Bike offers a quick, environmentally-friendly mode of transport to navigate the city’s streets.

And, to celebrate World Environment Day, Dubai’s Road and Transport Authority (RTA) has teamed up with Careem to offer free bike ride services to the public on Saturday June 10.

Available at 186 docking stations, you can also bag an unlimited number of trips – just be aware that a single journey can’t exceed 45 minutes.

In terms of how you bag yourself a free ride, the first step is making sure you’ve got the Careem app on your phone

Once you open it on Saturday, select ‘All Services’, then select ‘Bike’ under ‘Go’. From there, choose the ‘One Day’ pass and you can sort out a free ride using the code ‘FREE’. This will give you access to the service for 24 hours.

Careem Bike was introduced in 2020 and, since then, has been used for more than 3.8 million bike trips around the city.

Under normal circumstances, a yearly membership is Dhs420, one-month membership is Dhs75. It’s Dhs50 per week, or you can pay Dhs20 for the day.

You have 45 minutes to take each ride before you need to dock it back at a station. There will be an extra time charge of Dhs10 for every 30 minutes on top of the 45-minute trips.

To return your bike, simply slot it into any of the spare holders at any of the docking stations across Dubai.
