Renew Your Passport In UAE Airports With A 24-hour Service

What’s the dreaded thing about travelling? Having last-minute passport worries, of course!

But the good news is if you are a UAE citizen, those last-minute worries could be a thing of the past because the renewal process looks set to be much simpler.

That’s because you can apply to obtain, renew, or get a replacement for a lost or damaged Emirati passport through five different channels.

These include:

  • The General Departments of Residency and Foreigners Affairs/Citizenship Section.
  • The Nationality and Residence portal (eChannels).
  • The online passport service for citizens.
  • The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP).
  • Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah Airports.

The passport renewal service provided at Dubai and Abu Dhabi airports is now available 24 hours a day.

So, if you’ve lost your Emirati passport – or it’s damaged or expired – all you need to do is contact the UAE embassy or consulate and you can obtain a new one at the airport.

UAE passports are valid for no longer than five years.

When applying for a new one, you must submit three documents.

These include:

  • A family book or a copy of it.
  • The original ID or a copy of it.
  • A recent personal photo.

For more information, you can contact the General Departments of Residency and Foreigners Affairs – or contact the call centre on 600522222.
