Reduced Travel Time From Sharjah To Dubai On These Two New Roads

Has to deal with Sharjah to Dubai commute frequently? Well, then, you must know that during peak hours, Al Taawun Street, which connects the two Emirates, experiences significant traffic congestion, as a large number of Sharjah residents commute to and from Dubai for work.

Your journey should now be smoother and around 10 minutes shorter. That’s because Sharjah’s Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA) has announced the completion of a traffic improvement project on Al Ittihad Road and the Al Taawun area.

The implementation of these projects is anticipated to bring advantages to drivers residing in the Al Taawun, Al Khan, and Al Majaz areas who travel towards Ittihad Road and the Sharjah Ring Road.

An additional 600-metre lane has been added to connect to the Khulafa Al Rashideen Bridge and an extra lane has been added towards the Al Khan exit.

Set to ease travel time between the two Emirates, traffic should be eased on the road as a result of the upgrades.

The update was shared in a video on Twitter by the SRTA.

It comes after Dubai’s Road and Transport Authority (RTA) announced that several new roads are in the works.

Al Qusais Industrial Areas 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 are the focus of the upgrades.

The new roads will ease up congestion on these streets and will hopefully help those who live, work and visit the area.

Other new roads are being built in Margham (on the Dubai Al-Ain Road), Lahbab (on the Dubai-Hatta Road) Al Lesaily (by Last Exit and Al Qudra Lake) and Hatta.

At the end of last year, new roads opened in Al Quoz 2, Nad Al Sheba 2 and Al Barsha South 3 too.
