Planning To Visit Dubai On Visit Visa? New Rules Announced

Tourists travelling to Dubai, or those who are already here but on a visit visa, should be aware of a new policy that’s come into practice.

Dubai has just scrapped the ten-day grace period for those who stay beyond their permitted stay on their Dubai visit visa.

As confirmed to Arabian Business, those who overstay their visit visa will have to pay a daily fine of Dhs50. When entering Dubai on a visit visa, you are permitted 60 days of entry. You can apply for a visa extension twice.

People wishing to stay longer than that can do so by applying for a 30-day extension visa via the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) website.

You will need to complete a form with details on your current visa and passport information.

Visitors and tourists can apply for the second renewal before the expiry of the first one. The price for the renewal will be Dhs600.

Those who visit Dubai often can apply for a five-year multiple-entry visa pass for Dhs650 via the General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs (GDRFA) website and mobile application or the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP) website.

To apply for this you’ll need a bank statement for the last six months (pricing a balance of at least Dhs14,689), proof of your health insurance, photocopies of your passport (back and front) and a recent passport photograph.

For residents, a five-year Green Residence visa is now available, and there’s also been a broadening of the criteria for those eligible for the coveted ten-year Golden visa.
