Perseids Meteor Shower To Be Witnessed In Dubai This Weekend

United Arab Emirates is a great place to be for stargazing enthusiasts given that it is located in the northern hemisphere.

And this weekend we will once again be treated to an awe-inspiring astrological event as the Perseids Meteor Shower will take place on Saturday August 12.

Sure to be a magnificent sight, Perseids are one of the most plentiful showers with about 50 to 100 meteors seen per hour, according to NASA.

Perseids are also known for their fireballs. Bring on the sky-watching.

You should be able to see the meteor shower as all that is needed is a clear sky and darkness. There’s no need to look in any particular direction, as meteors can generally be seen all over the sky.

Starting at 6pm, it will take place at the Mleiha campsite in the heart of the desert, until 1am.

The event will offer activities designed to ensure the best possible viewing experience, with telescopes for guests to use as well as information provided by expert guides.

No need to worry about getting hungry, as ticketholders will be served meals and refreshments.

Standard tickets start from Dhs200 per person, with a premium costing Dhs280.
