Official Fundraising Drives In The UAE For Gaza Donations

The UAE has launched Tarahum for Gaza, a country-wide fundraising campaign to provide relief aid to the Palestinian people impacted by the war in the Gaza Strip.

Under the title Tarahum for Gaza, which means Compassion for Gaza, the Emirates Red Crescent initiative provides multiple ways for UAE residents to make donations. Residents can donate cash online and drop off care packages including food, health and hygiene supplies that will be sent as humanitarian aid.

The campaign is being run in partnership with the World Food Programme and in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Community Development.

It aims to provide aid to all vulnerable groups, especially children, with more than one million children affected by the current conflict.

Multiple cafés, restaurants, retailers and other venues across the UAE are supporting Tarahum for Gaza by pledging portions of sales or profits to the cause.

You can donate to Tarahum for Gaza in the UAE in the following ways:

Online Donations

The easiest way to donate to Tarahum for Gaza is online at the Emirates Red Crescent website. You can donate any amount you wish via Apple Pay, credit card, SMS or bank transfer. Simply choose your payment method and select the donation amount. You can also donate funds via UNICEF Gulf, which is running a donation drive specifically for the children of Gaza.

Visit the UNICEF Gulf website here and click on the top link for the ‘Urgent Appeal for Children of Gaza Crisis’. You can make a one-off donation or pledge monthly support. UNICEF is currently providing drinking water, medicines, and fuel as well as mental health and psychosocial support.

Physical Care Packages

Emirates Red Crescent has opened multiple donation drop-off points across the UAE dedicated to receiving packages for Tarahum for Gaza. The charity has asked for three types of donations: food baskets, children’s baskets and women’s baskets. Items accepted at donation boxes include cash, blankets, canned food (with a shelf life of six months), new clothes and children’s supplies, which will all go directly to those affected in Gaza.
