New Etihad Rail Video Shows Network’s Highest Bridge

We definitely can’t wait for the opening of Etihad Rail’s passenger train. And the latest update on the project is a mesmerising video showing the network’s highest bridge.

Shared on X by the official Etihad Rail account, the footage shows the Al-Bathna Railway Bridge in the Emirate of Fujairah.

Alongside the 23-second video is a caption reading: “Al-Bathna Railway Bridge in the Emirate of Fujairah in a shot you have never seen before. The bridge extends over a distance of 600 metres and a height of 40 metres, as it is the highest within the railway network.

“The suspension bridge contains 14 columns, and each column is separated by a distance of 40 metres. About 250 workers worked on building the bridge’s foundations over a period of 19 months, and the bridge also plays an important role in facilitating the commercial route from Fujairah to the rest of the country.”

It comes after a clip showed the first glimpse inside the Etihad Rail passenger train in October.

The video shows rows of plush grey seats, carpeted flooring and large windows. It also shows that there will be different seating options for ticketholders.

The first stage of the railway network was finished in 2016 and construction of the second part started in 2020.

Spanning the UAE, the track is now able to transport goods from Al Faya to the rest of the country.
