On Tuesday, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, announced ‘We The UAE 2031’ government vision.

The plan involves government’s goals that could bring big changes across the UAE.

He made the announcement in annual meeting, saying:

Six topics were discussed, including COP28, Emiratisation, the future of education, legislative updates, the UAE’s digital future and economic partnerships.

HH Sheikh Mohammed tweeted, “Today, within the annual meetings of the UAE government, we launched ‘We the UAE 2031’ which represents our governmental vision for the next decade.

“We finished our previous strategic session in 2021. Today we begin our journey towards new summits under the leadership, sponsorship and leadership of my brother Mohamed bin Zayed, may God protect him.”

The goal is to accelerate the UAE’s growth in sustainability, education, healthcare, and infrastructure areas.

While the 2021 Vision aimed to position the UAE as the safest place in the world, 2031’s equivalent will look to double gross domestic product (GDP) from Dhs1.49trillion to Dhs3trillion.

The government’s vision also aims to increase the industrial sector to Dhs300billion and will include an advanced industry sector worth Dhs70billion.

UAE aims to generate Dhs800billion in non-oil exports over the next 10 years, while being among the top 10 countries in hydrogen energy production.
