Metro And Traffic Updates For New Year’s Eve In Dubai

Your preparations must be at peak as the New Year’s Eve is just around the corner. But have you considered thinking about metro timings and too much traffic on the road? Well, how will you get to your destination if you don’t figure it out now? That is why we have come up with updates on road closures, metro, and traffic.

Places around the city will be laying on lavish bashes, firework displays will be popping off in different locations including several iconic places, including Burj Khalifa and Palm Jumeirah.

Road Closures

It has been informed that Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard will be closed from 6pm onwards on December 31.

If you have a reservation in the vicinity of NYE, you will have to reach at your destination ahead of this time.

Public Transport

You will also need to pay attention to public transport timings because Dubai Mall Metro Station could close anytime between 2 – 10pm.

There is an 8-hour window as it will be depending on the capacity at Dubai Mall and once capacity is reached, the station will close.

If you have plans to watch the fireworks at Burj Khalifa or The Dubai Fountain, you will want to check out venues and their timings ahead of time.

Heading to The Palm Jumeirah? Then you will be pleased to know that The Palm Monorail will be open later than usual until 3am.

Parking In Dubai

Be informed that parking will be available until capacity is filled if you intend to park there to be near to the Burj Khalifa and the Dubai Fountain.

It will be better to arrive as early as possible because this could happen at any time and once the route is closed, there won’t be any more opportunities for entrance.

Considering calling a cab? Prior to the implementation of road closures, taxis will run as usual; however, once the road restrictions are in place, taxis won’t be able to access Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard.

The road closures are anticipated to reopen on Sunday, January 1 between 1am and 2am for when you wish to go after.
