Japan Culture-Con Is Coming To Dubai This Weekend

A fan of all things Japan? You’ll want to get tickets for Japan Culture-Con which is happening this weekend.

From food to performances and anime, the three-day event will be a celebration of Japanese culture.

Taking place outdoors at Burj Park, the family-friendly weekend will run from Friday November 10 until Sunday November 12 from 2pm until 11.30pm.

Tickets cost Dhs55 per day and can be booked now on the 800tickets website. While a group of four people can enter for Dhs125.

Anime and manga voice-over artists Koichi Takamatsu, The Mode, Sacred Fleramo, Satsuki Sunayama and Yoshiyuki Kimura will perform at the event.

Other performances happening throughout the weekend include traditional tea ceremonies which see matcha prepared in a ceremonial way.

An authentic Japanese maid café, MAID-ON will be heading to Dubai for the first time ever. The concept sees waitresses dressed as maids serving customers with a heightened level of service as if the customer is their ‘master’. Kind of as weird as it sounds, but totally normal in Japan, maid cafés are kitsch and fun.

There will also be other food stalls selling authentic dishes for visitors to try. Other market stalls will sell handicrafts, kimonos and cosmetics.

Kids are welcome to join, with a dedicated children’s corner with one-of-a-kind Japanese games to try.

From Dhs55. Fri Nov 10- Sun Nov 12, 2pm-11.30pm. Burj Park, Downtown Dubai, 800tickets.com (050 676 9775).
