Increase In UAE Petrol Price For February Has Been Announced

Vehicle owners, take note because UAE petrol prices will be higher in February.

The country’s fuel price committee sets petrol and diesel prices at the end of every month. And prices are going to be higher in February, it has been confirmed today.

Super 98 petrol will cost Dhs3.05 per litre, compared to Dhs2.78 in January.

Special 95 petrol will cost Dhs2.93 per litre, compared to Dhs2.67 in January.

E-Plus 91 petrol will cost Dhs2.86 a litre, compared to Dhs2.59 a litre last month.

Diesel will be charged at Dhs3.38 a litre compared to Dhs3.29 in January.

It comes after brent futures rose by 3.31 percent in January, while US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude prices have risen from $76 to $82 a barrel since January 3.

The last time we saw rises like this was November, when the UAE fuel price committee upped the rate by nine percent – in line with a global surge at the time.

For the first time in June in 2022, the UAE petrol prices went above Dhs4. And they reached the highest in July with Super 98 costing Dhs4.63 per litre.

Prices then fell for three consecutive months in August, September and October. Then the November hike was followed by a further reduction in December. Fuel prices in the country were liberalised in 2015, with local rates being aligned with global oil prices.

For the past seven years, the fuel price committee has met on a monthly basis to announce revised rates.
