FIFA World Cup: You Can Now Travel to Qatar Without A Hayya Card

We all are super excited about the ongoing FIFA World Cup!

Although Qatar is the home to all football world cup matches, Dubai is also a great host of fan zones and sports bars showing the games.

One of the reasons Dubai is so busy is the city’s easy access to Doha with shuttle flights available to get to and from the tournament’s host country.

And the good news is GCC citizens and residents can enter Qatar without a Hayya Card.

From now on (December 6), residents and citizens of GCC countries won’t need to have match tickets or apply for a Hayya Card for non-ticket holders.

However, people driving to Qatar must drop their cars at Abu Samra border and take a bus from there to reach Doha.

Under previous rules, entry was only allowed for Hayya Card holders, residents and citizens.

Fans without tickets have been able to enter Qatar since December 2, but a Hayya Card was still mandatory.

Visitors without tickets who are non-GCC residents must apply for a Hayya Card using the ‘early December’ feature, and will need to pay a Dhs504 fee and book hotel accommodation.
