FIFA World Cup: RTA Dubai Announces Extended Metro Operating Hours

Roads and Transport Authority Dubai has announced new Metro timings for the FIFA World Cup.

The change in timings is valid from today (December 9) till the final match of the sporting event happening in Qatar.

The authority noted that the revision is to ensure “an easy trip to [one’s] destination during the football season.”

The last Metro will depart 45 minutes after the last game, with an added 1.5 hours service extension. Here is the list of extended timings:

Around 1,400 Dubai Metro trips, 700 taxis, 60 buses, and three marine transit means have been announced for transport of over 1,200 passengers per hour during the world cup in Qatar.

RTA announced the master plan for managing the mobility of residents and  visitors of fan zones in Dubai and facilitating the movement of fans flying to Qatar through Al Maktoum International Airport.
