Expo City To Discontinue Al Wasl Projection Show And Close Surreal Water Feature Until Summer

Summer has reached us and that means that lots of outdoor attractions are going to happen in the emirate.

And Expo City has announced that Al Wasl Dome’s daily projection shows will stop on Thursday June 1.

In addition, the Surreal Water Feature will close throughout the warmer months. It is expected that both attractions will be back in action in October when temperatures in the city.

If you do decide to take a trip to Expo City you’ll still be able to access Jubilee and Al Forsan parks and the area’s restaurants will remain open.

As for food options in Expo City you’ll find AlBaik, ECCO pizza and pasta, Grand Beirut for traditional Lebanese fare, smokehouse and barbecue at Mattar Farm, WOFL’s sweet and savoury waffles, and The Daily, part of Rove Expo 2020.

In September 2023, it was announced that Expo was to become Expo City Dubai, reachable by Dubai Metro via Expo 2020 station, to keep the event’s legacy living on.

It was also recently revealed that Expo City is getting its own shiny new mall, just minutes away from Expo 2020 Metro station and easily accessible from Sheikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Road, Expo Road and Jebel Ali Road.

Kitted out with more than 190 retail and food and beverage outlets, Expo City Mall will be a great addition to the shopping scene over a side of town that is being developed.

Shoppers will have to wait until next year, as Expo City Mall is expected to open at the start of 2024.
