Expo City Is Planning A Huge Festival For Ramadan

The beautiful month of Ramadan will meet us soon, and it’s going to be one of the most significant events on the calendar of any Muslim living in Dubai.

Expo City Dubai will make it a memorable one. That’s because it will put on a strong of activities for the Hai Ramadan neighbourhood festival, running from March 3 to April 25.

Local vendors have been invited to make all the arrangements for the occasion, brining their handicrafts, activities, and dining options for everyone.

The event looks set to build on the success of Expo 2020, supporting local businesses and showcasing UAE-sourced products and creativity.

Expo’s Amna Abulhoul said the event will provide a “creative and accessible platform to contribute to sustainable economic growth while also offering our visitors an exciting and authentic shopping, dining and entertainment experience.”

During the Holy Month, Muslims are required to elevate their level of spiritual and physical submission to their faith by way of fasting.

The abstention from eating and drinking is intended to last from dawn until dusk throughout the 30-day period. Such a change to so many people’s daily routines has a big impact on society.

Work and school hours are cut short. This year, Ramadan is most likely to fall on Thursday, March 23.

If this is the case, the annual fast will end on Friday, April 21, with Eid al-Fitr falling on the same day.

It is essential to note that the exact date of Ramadan’s beginning is determined by religious scholars under the cover of night.

They must observe certain sightings related to the appearance and cycle of the moon – so the specific dates can vary, albeit typically only by a day or two at most.

The March 23 estimate comes from predictions made by the International Union for Astronomy and Space Sciences in the UAE.

If it does turn out not to be Ramadan, it will likely start the next day, which should provide enough time to forward-plan your diaries in advance.
