Expo City Attractions Will Be Free To Visit During COP28

Visiting Expo City during COP28? The good news is that several attractions (that you usually have to pay to visit) will be free to access during the event.

The smart city announced on its social media channels that its ticketing programme will be suspended from Saturday November 18.

That’s because in the run-up to the 2023 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28) access to Expo City will be limited.

From Wednesday November 15, the general public won’t be able to explore as much of the area as usual.

However, from Sunday December 3, Terra – The Sustainability Pavilion, Expo City Dubai Pavilion, Expo City Farm Alif – The Mobility Pavilion, Vision Pavilion and Women’s Pavilion will be free to enter.

COP28 runs from Thursday November 30 to Tuesday December 12. The climate change conference is expected to draw more than 70,000 people, from delegates to scientists from across the globe.

During this time, Expo City – which began life as the site of Expo 2020– will be split into the Blue and Green Zone. While the Blue Zone is open only to United Nations Climate Change Conference-accredited parties, the Green Zone will be open to everyone.

The Green Zone, which includes Al Wasl dome, the Surreal water feature and Al Forsan Park, will be open to the public from Sunday December 3.

What will you see as part of the Green Zone? There’ll be musicals and art exhibitions, debates and discussions, green farming and dining options.

However, if you wish to visit there may be additional registration or ticketing requirements for certain events. Register for a day pass via the COP28 website.
