Enjoy Free Parking This Weekend For New Year’s Day

Only a few days to go before we enter a new year.

So, if you are heading out to celebrate New Year’s Day or New Year’s Eve, you will be pleased to know that parking is free this weekend. Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority, RTA, has announced that parking will be free across the city.

The free parking this weekend will start when the clock strikes midnight turning New Year’s Eve into New Year’s Day. So if you’re changing venue after 12am, you won’t need to worry about paying.

Though not applicable to multi-level parking stories, those parking on the streets on New Year’s Day won’t have to pay.

Normal parking fees will begin again on Monday January 2 at midnight.

People willing to park close to The Dubai Mall and Burj Khalifa are advised to park at the following designated spots:

  • Centrepoint Metro Station
  • Etisalat Metro Station
  • Jebel Ali Metro Station
  • Jumeirah Golf Estates Metro Station

Emaar District will have a total of 20,284 spaces available across The Dubai Mall, Zaa’beel, Fountain View, and Boulevard lower parking spots but these will be given on a first-come, first-serve basis.

It is prohibited to park on Al Khail Road and Sheikh Zayed Road in both directions.

The Dubai Metro will be running both the Red and Green Lines on Saturday December 31 between 5am and 11.59pm and on Sunday January 1 from midnight to 11.59pm.

Those wanting to take the tram can do so on New Year’s Eve between 6am and 11.59pm. As well as on Sunday January 1 from midnight to 1am (of the following day).
