Emirates To Offer More Seats On Flights To Sydney

Emirates has announced that it will be upgrading its services to Sydney with 2,000 extra weekly seats to the Australian destination.

This will be done by the Dubai-based airline using a double-decker A380 on its third daily flight to Oz starting on Saturday November 4.

Want to bag a seat? The third Sydney A380 flight will depart from Dubai at 9.30pm, arriving in Sydney at 6.20pm (local time). The returning flight will depart from Sydney at 9.10pm, arriving in Dubai at 4.30am (local time).

The Emirates A380 service, set in a three-class configuration offering 489 seats, will replace the Boeing 777-300ER currently being deployed.

Each return flight adds more than 260 extra daily seats and more connection opportunities to and from Dubai. Lucky us.

The third A380 service will complement the two other Sydney A380 four-class services, which both have Premium Economy seats.

Emirates currently operates 63 weekly services to Australia, offering close to 56,000 seats to and from its four major gateways.

Melbourne and Sydney operate three times daily, while Brisbane is served with double daily flights and the airline also operates its flagship A380 daily to Perth.

Emirates has also reintroduced services from Melbourne to Singapore, in addition to connecting Sydney with Christchurch, offering travellers the only A380 experience across the Trans-Tasman.

It comes after the carrier announced it will operate an additional five-a-week service to London Heathrow Airport (LHR) from Dubai International Airport (DXB) starting at the end of October.

Emirates currently serves London Heathrow with six daily A380 flights and the additional flights will operate on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

The boost will start on Tuesday October 31 and last until Saturday March 30 2024.
