We have already enjoyed Eid-ul-Fitr 2023 to its full extent and now we can’t wait to enjoy second Eid of the year.

And having said that, the Emirates Astronomical Society has predicted when the holiday will start and end in June.

According to scholars, the public holiday will coincide with June 27, 28, 29 and 30. Tuesday June 27 is expected to be Arafat Day, with Eid al Adha taking place on Wednesday June 28.

If the predictions are correct, UAE workers are expected to be off for six days in total due to the weekend following on from the Eid al Adha break.

The Emirates Astronomical Society shared the update with The National but the date of Eid al Adha will not be 100 percent confirmed until the Moon-sighting committee see the new crescent.

When it comes to public holidays, UAE residents still have a fair few to look forward to this year.

After Eid al Adha, July 19 will see a public holiday to mark Islamic New Year, falling on the first day of the month Muharram – the first of the Islamic lunar calendar.

The Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) birthday follows that, with a public holiday on September 27. Commemoration Day falls on Friday December 1, followed by National Day on Saturday December 2 and a further holiday for National Day on Sunday December 3.
