Eid Al Fitr 2023: Dubai’s Cannon Locations Revealed

Eid al Fitr cannons will be fired across Dubai this weekend, Dubai Police have revealed the locations of where they will be.

The cannons will be fired to mark the end of Ramadan, and the start of Eid al Fitr.

They will be fired at:

  • Al Barsha – Eid Musallah
  • Baraha – Eid Musallah
  • Grand Zabeel Mosque – Za’abeel 1
  • Hatta – Eid Musallah
  • Muallah Al Mankhool
  • Nad Al Sheba Area – Eid Musallah
  • Nadd Al Hamar – Eid Musallah

The religious holiday marks the beginning of the Islamic month Shawwal and the end of the month-long fasting and prayer during Ramadan.

Next in line after Eid al Fitr comes Arafat Day, the second day of the week-long Hajj pilgrimage, expected to take place on June 27.

Following on from this, comes Eid al Adha – which is expected to be commemorated on June 28, 29 and 30.

If this comes to pass, there will be four consecutive public holidays at the end of June – from Tuesday 27 to Friday 30 – leaving the door open to a six-day break if you factor in the weekend of July 1-2.
