Dubai’s Public Beaches To Expand BY 400%

One of the beautiful things about Dubai is sandy shores touching your toes, right?

And plans are in the works for public beaches to expand by a mega 400 percent by 2040.

As part of the Dubai Urban Plan, the beach expansion will see sandy coastal areas increase from 21 kilometres to 105 kilometres.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, revealed the update on Twitter.

He shared: “Within the Dubai Urban Plan, we have adopted the development and doubling of public beaches by 400 percent by 2040. Increasing its area from 21km now to 105km… and raising the percentage of services by 300 percent on public beaches by 2025.

“We launched the first urban plan in Dubai in the 1960s. Development in Dubai is continuing and we are still at the beginning. We will continue to provide the best standard of living for individuals and families in services and projects globally. The new urban projects will add to the renewed dazzle in the emirate… and will support our economic and tourism agenda for the next decade. Dubai will continue to compete with itself to be the ideal place for visitors and residents.”

Dubai authorities are taking initiatives by expanding Dubai beaches plan, recently, many dog-friendly beaches also got opened in the emirates.
