Dubai To Have Another Opera House Soon

We may already have an opera house, in the form of the glorious dhow Dubai Opera, but we might soon have two.

There are plans for a brand-new opera house in Dubai. The Azizi Opera will be located in Dubai South.

It will be sat within a new $8.1billion development called Azizi Venice. Spanning 24 million square feet, it will be a Venetian-style waterfront community with 30,000 homes including villas, apartments and mansions.

The Azizi Opera will sit at the very centre of the development and has its sights on becoming a tourist attraction. There will also be three hotels in the area for said tourists to stay close by.

While the finer details remain under wraps, there’s plenty to get excited about at our current opera house.

Indeed, Dubai Opera has released an exciting line-up of shows for the rest of 2023 and the start of 2024.

From October 3 until October 12, you can see Matilda The Musical on stage.

Shakespeare’s Macbeth comes to life in a modern production directed by Richard Twyman. A visceral performance by the Shakespeare North Playhouse, the play is on for three nights from Friday November 3 to Sunday November 5.

And to close the year, Slava’s SnowShow will be on stage from Friday December 8 to Sunday December 10 before Tchaikovsky’s beloved Christmas ballet, The Nutcracker, runs from December 15 to December 17.
